In the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, a 27-year-old man was brutally murdered by unidentified assailants using a sharp weapon. This incident was reported by police officials on Friday.
Authorities suspect that Naxalites may be behind this attack, although no Maoist pamphlets were found at the scene. The incident occurred late Thursday night in the village of Manakeli, within the Bijapur police jurisdiction.
According to preliminary reports, a group of attackers entered the village and fatally assaulted Suresh Korsa before fleeing into the nearby forest. Following the incident, a police team was dispatched to the location on Friday, and the body was subsequently sent for autopsy.
Officials noted that no Maoist literature was recovered from the site. However, initial assessments suggest that Naxalites could be responsible for this act. The police are currently investigating all possible angles related to the case.
A search operation is ongoing in the area to locate the attackers. This year, the Bastar region, which includes Bijapur and six other districts, has witnessed approximately 32 fatalities due to Maoist violence.
